Welcome Thierry Telfort, Program Director

We’re thrilled to welcome Thierry Telfort as Program Director at Play Rugby! He officially joined the team on Tuesday, February 1st!

Thierry has significant youth development experience, having worked as a Program Director at Sports & Arts is Schools Foundation (today known as NY Edge) and most recently serving as the Director of Community Development & Family Affairs at the NYC DOE. Throughout his career he has supported young people to gain college access, scholarships, internships and employment. His community engagement experience and innovative approach to program development will enhance our ability to be build vital connections in the communities we serve.

Though not a rugby player, Thierry is a huge sports fan (football and basketball, especially) and is passionate about the impact that sport can make on a young person’s life. He credits sports for helping to shape him into the man he is today.

Thierry is a passionate leader with a commitment to employee growth and development and we are excited to have him leading our program team as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization!
