Play Rugby Academy Receives $50,000 Grant From RBC Foundation USA

Play Rugby is honored to be the recipient of a $50,000 grant from RBC Foundation USA to support the Play Rugby Academy.

The Play Rugby Academy provides rugby training and competition, youth development and educational resources to help put young people on a path to success. Our programs are designed specifically to address the unique needs of youth growing up in underresourced communities. Through our unique values-based curriculum, students build and develop the social and emotional skills needed to help them be successful on the field, in the classroom, at home and in their communities. The Academy currently serves over 100 young people from all five boroughs across New York City.

“We are so grateful for the ongoing support from RBC Foundation and for the advocacy of Vito Sperduto,” said Wil Snape-Rogers, Executive Director of Play Rugby. “This long-standing partnership shows our shared commitment to improving the quality of life of young people in the communities we serve and making a positive difference in promoting diversity in rugby.”

The RBC Foundation USA prioritizes grants that support youth in order to help them achieve their fullest potential. We’re so grateful for the Foundation’s commitment to Play Rugby and the transformative programs we provide to young people throughout New York City.
